Magnus Norman är på bättringsvägen. Om tre veckor hoppas kunna slänga kryckorna - och chansen finns att han kan göra comeback redan i Australien nästa år.
- Det känns mycket bättre nu, jag har inte alls samma smärta som förut, säger han.



Det har gått nästan två månader sedan han genomgick höftoperationen hos en specialistläkare i USA. Det har varit en tid av rehabilitering och funderingar, hur framtiden ska se ut och när han kan vara tillbaka. När det varit som mörkast har man sagt det finns en risk för att tenniskarriären kan vara över.
Nu ser dock läget betydligt bättre ut.
- Förutom att smärtan inte är densamma så rör jag mig mycket bättre nu. Jag hoppas kunna slänga kryckorna om tre veckor, säger han.
Tidigare har han trott sig kunna vara tillbaka tidigast i februari och skulle därmed missa inledningen av säsongen och Grand Slam-turneringen Australien Open.
Nu hoppas han dock kunna komma till spel.

-Det kommer att bli tufft men jag har definitivt inte uteslutit att det kan bli spel för mig där.
Oavsett om det blir spel i Australien eller inte kommer Magnus Norman att ha ett annorlunda upplägg under nästa säsong.
För första gången i tenniskarriären har han planer på att spela i Sydamerika.
- Det går några grusturneringar där i februari och mars, grus är betydligt mera skonsamt för mig.

I så fall skulle det kunna bli aktuellt med spel i Bogota, Colombia, Buenos Aires, Argentina och Vina del Mar, Chile, turneringar som tennissvenskar i vanliga fall brukar rata.

- Ja, rejält, tidigare har det varit si och så men nu känner jag verkligen det.

It has been nearly 2 months since he went through a hip replacement surgery with a specialist in the US. It has been a time spent going through rehab and thoughts about the future. In some of the more darker periods he thought perhaps his career was over. But now things are looking up. "Not only is the pain less but I also move better". I hope that I will have no crushes in three weeks"

Before Magnus had thought that he would not be back until February and then miss the beginning of the season and AO but now he is hopeful that he can play again. "It is going to be tough but I have definitely not closed the door on my return". Whether he plays in AO or not Magnus attitude will be a lot different than in the past. For the first time in his career he is planning to play in the South American circuit. "There are some claycourt events in February and March there. Besides I am much more comfortable on the claycourt surface."

If he plays it would be in Bogota, Colombia, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Chile. Tennis events the Swedes usually do not play. 'Do you feel the need to play when you see the Stockholm Open?' "Yes very much so, before it was more whatever but now I really feel the urge"
